Alina Zagaytova

Alina Zagaytova serves on the boards of several energy-focused organizations. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Correlate Energy, a public solar energy and technology company. She chairs the Compensation Committee and is a member of the Nomination and Governance Committee. She is also a Board Advisor to Deep Isolation, an innovative and safe nuclear waste disposal company. In addition, she has served on the boards of Clean Energy Collective, a community solar energy company, and Younicos, a pioneer in battery storage grid solutions with operations in the United States and Europe. Zagaytova’s expertise includes strategic transactions, financing, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, government relations, and human resources capital management.
Zagaytova was previously the General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer of Redwood Materials, Inc., a lithium-ion battery recycling and manufacturing company in the electric vehicle industry, where she helped lead the company through hyper-growth and debt and equity fundraising. Prior to Redwood Materials, Zagaytova served as the Deputy General Counsel of Marqeta, Inc., a financial payments technology company, where she played a pivotal role in the company’s successful $16 billion initial public offering (IPO). She was also Chief Counsel Business Development at First Solar, a global solar energy and panel manufacturing company, where she focused on corporate and business development, finance, investments, and mergers and acquisitions. She helped lead First Solar’s energy access projects in Africa and South America and developed innovative financing solutions specific to those regions. She began her career in the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, assisting with legal and foreign policy issues. Throughout her career, Ms. Zagaytova has been an investor and advisor to many companies in the clean energy industry and an advocate for women’s leadership.
Zagaytova holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
