Elizabeth (Lizzie) Biney-Amissah is the Managing Partner of TBrA X Ventures, an investment and advisory firm that is part of The Boardroom Africa (TBrA) Group. She was most recently a Partner at E3 Capital (formerly Energy Access Ventures), investing in decarbonized, decentralized, and digitalized smart energy and infrastructure technology in Sub-Saharan Africa, where she led a pioneering investment round in a catalytic offgrid utility in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Nuru, amongst other deals in agritech, and commercial and industrial solar.
With over 15 years of experience, Biney-Amissah was a Business Development Director at Globeleq, where she worked on grid-scale Independent Power Projects (IPPs) and was a Project Developer and the Founding Regional Head of West Africa Operations for EleQtra Ltd/InfraCo Africa Fund, a part of the Private Infrastructure Development Group. There, she focused on the development of IPPs in energy and transportation infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa and worked mainly on power and transportation infrastructure projects, namely the Cenpower Kpone IPP, a 350-megawatt combined-cycle gas turbine plant, the first commercially financed IPP project in her home country of Ghana.
Biney-Amissah began her career in public securities research at the Healthcare and Biotechnology Group at the Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) and TMT-focused hedge fund Coatue Management in New York. She is an Archbishop Tutu Fellow with the African Leadership Institute (AFLI).
Biney-Amissah's Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology was awarded by Princeton University and her Master of Public Administration degree by the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, where she was an Edward S. Mason Fellow.
