Laurie Menoud is a Founding Partner of At One Ventures, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm managing over $550 million with limited partners (LPs) including Temasek, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and the MacArthur Foundation. She invests in deep tech startups that build planet-positive industries and is passionate about industrial technologies and approaches that respect all forms of life, bringing an integrated perspective to research, industry, and entrepreneurship.

She gained operational experience at SRI International, commercializing next-generation technologies funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy, and National Science Foundation. At SRI International, she mentored over 50 entrepreneurs and launched a dozen ventures in computer vision, natural language processing, diagnostics, and robotics.

Menoud spent several years in the chemical industry, first with Solvay’s Corporate Research and Development (R&D) group, where she developed long-term R&D strategies and supported mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and startup investments in bio-based materials, renewable energy, energy-efficient lighting, and radioactive waste recycling. She later joined BASF Venture Capital, a $300 million corporate venture capital fund, where she led early-stage investments in North America related to transformative industrial technologies, including 3D printing, robotics, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.

She began her career in fundamental and applied research, contributing to the characterization of the first “giant” virus, which reshaped theories on the origins of life, and later applying biotechnology to environmental health and water treatment as a microbiologist at Bluewater Bio, a UK-based company that specializes in the cost-effective treatment of water and wastewater.

Menoud has served on the boards of 15 deep tech companies, including Adden Energy, Ascend Elements, Helios, Stellaria, and Noon Energy, and has been a Limited Partner in three venture capital funds in the United States and Canada.
