Ruchi Singh is a visionary energy executive with over 15 years of experience driving innovation in transmission strategy, interconnection policy, and grid modernization across government, utility, and private sectors. She currently serves as Vice President of Transmission & Interconnection, Engineering and Policy at Urban Grid, a Brookfield Company, where she leads a North American team advancing the organization’s renewable portfolio. Her work includes building interconnection strategies, bridging market intelligence and policy with technical transmission and engineering analysis to optimize project economics, and advising executive leadership on board-level project investment and advancement.

Previously, Singh served as Head of Transmission and Interconnection for renewables at Engie North America. She managed a team responsible for over 150 projects and 20 GW of renewable assets, oversaw siting strategies for hyperscale data centers, and examined grid-enhancing technologies to improve operational performance and revenue.  She oversaw the interconnection of 4 GW of project to commercial operation. Her leadership extended to technical due diligence for mergers and acquisition (M&A) activities, project financing, and technical support for investment decisions.

In the public sector, Singh was Technology Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office, where she launched the $10 million i2X program to accelerate renewable interconnection and grid digitization. She managed a $25 million portfolio of collaborative projects with national labs, academia, and industry and led multiple stakeholder workshops.

Her earlier roles at First Solar, American Transmission Company, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Black & Veatch reflect her technical depth and leadership in delivering cost savings, project viability, and regulatory engagement.

Singh is passionate about advocating for women in energy and serves on the board of Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) Houston. She is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has been cited over 500 times in smart grid publications. She holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
