Kirstin Gunderson leads the Global Site Selection Program Management team at Facebook, where she focuses on working with municipalities, governments, and internal and external stakeholders to site and develop the global data center portfolio for Facebook’s suite of products and services. At the time of her award, Gunderson was a Senior Manager for Walmart’s Energy Team, where she received an award for her clean energy efforts. While at Walmart, she helped drive the successful deployment and management of Walmart’s onsite renewable portfolio—advancing Walmart’s goal to produce or procure 7 billion kilowatt-hours of renewable energy globally by 2020, as well as the company’s long-term goal to be supplied by 100 percent renewable energy. In 2013, Gunderson led the installation of Walmart’s first one-megawatt onsite wind turbine in Red Bluff, California. In her work at Facebook, she continues to advance the goal of clean energy in the technology space.
