Lene is currently the Global Manager for Shell Research Connect & GameChanger at Shell Global Solutions. In addition, board member of Norske Shell. She is based in Amsterdam with teams globally distributed around Shell Technology Centers (US, Brazil, NL and India) reporting to the vice president of Innovation Excellence within the Technology organization. She is also Visiting Professor at the University of Science & Technology Beijing, China.

Lene joined Shell in 2013 as an external hire from Tata Steel where she managed the global R&D team on surface technology with a focus on steel grades for the automotive industry. Prior to this, she built bridges between industry and academia working as the Program Manager at the Technological Top Institute for Materials to Innovate Industry (M2i) in The Netherlands. Her first role in Shell was General Manager Materials & Corrosion with teams in US, NL and China.

A Danish national, Lene is married and blessed with two children and speaks several languages. She recharges her batteries in multiple ways like reading and women network activities; from a physical perspective enjoys running, cross country skiing and yoga.
