Peggy Heeg
Board of Directors, Electric Reliability Council of Texas
Peggy Heeg is a member of the Board of Directors, the chair of the Human Resources & Governance Committee, and a member of the Audit Committee of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). ERCOT manages the flow of electric power to more than 26 million Texas customers. As the independent system operator for the region, ERCOT schedules power on an electric grid that connects more than 52,700 miles of transmission lines and 1,100 generation units. ERCOT also performs financial settlement for the competitive wholesale bulk-power market in the region.
Heeg also serves as a board member of a privately held midstream natural gas company and has served on the boards and audits committees of three public energy companies. Until 2021, Heeg managed successful law practices and sat on the boards of Reed Smith and Norton Rose Fulbright, two of the fifteen largest law firms in the world. In her law practice, Heeg advised leading companies on complex energy, regulatory, and corporate governance matters.
Prior to her law firm career, Heeg spent fifteen years with El Paso Corp, a Fortune 50 international energy company, including serving as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel. Heeg began her career as an attorney and advisor to a commissioner at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
