Phuong Phillips is the Chief Legal Officer of Aledade, Inc., a company that enables independent primary care physicians to run an Accountable Care Organization (ACO). ACOs merge provider reimbursements with quality metrics and healthcare cost reductions, typically using alternative payment models. Phillips previously served as Chief Legal Officer of Zynga, Inc., a leading social game developer, where she oversaw legal affairs and government relations. Before joining Zynga, she served as Associate General Counsel for Tesla, Inc., where she managed the post-acquisition integrations of SolarCity Corporation and Grohmann Engineering. Prior to her tenure at Tesla, Phillips spent more than 6 years at SolarCity, where she served as the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Head of Corporate and Securities, helping to drive the company’s rapid and enormous growth, particularly in managing important transactions such as the company’s initial public offering, convertible note financings, and first-of-their-kind solar asset securitization financings. She has also managed the development and anticipated deployment of an innovative financing platform for smaller investors to directly invest in clean energy projects, creating greater opportunities for clean energy investors and potentially raising up to hundreds of millions of dollars for the company to expand access to clean energy for customers. Phillips also served as the lead attorney for SolarCity during its 2016 acquisition by Tesla. Previously, Phillips was an attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a premier national law firm focusing on technology companies. She serves on the boards of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, the California Minority Counsel Program, and Project Glimmer, a nonprofit organization focused on the empowerment of teenage girls and young women through career coaching and various programs. She holds a BA in Communication Studies, with a specialization in Business Administration, and a JD, both from the University of California, Los Angeles.
